Concept and design of the book "About a Square / Ten Years of Site-specific Exhibitions at zqm"

This publication offers an overview of the activity of the Berliner Project space zwanzigquadratmeter (zqm). The book has the properties of a catalog and is yet to be understood as an artists book – as independent work. Eric Emery, curator and founder of zqm, gave graphic designer Julie Joliat a carte blanche to reenact the photographic archive documentation of the numerous exhibitions in order to create a new graphic work. In that way, zqm’s concept of inviting artists to develop site-specific works translates into a book form, generating an in situ publication.
